For the first of my third year uni projects, we were set the theme of body_image. And more specifically, women in fashion. I came to the conclusion that in fashion there are too many labels, whether that be 'skinny' or 'fat' or 'plus-size' and wanted to come up with a creative proposition to challenge the fashion stereotypes.
I styled a campaign called 'wild things' which would bring women of a range of sizes together, but the idea was to make it fashion forward and visually arresting so that the issue of size would not be what the viewer would notice first. In turn, I hope this would encourage women of all different sizes to embrace fashion and see that aspirational fashion figures can come in a range of shapes too.
The models names are Amanda, Grace, Charlotte, Roisin and I was in a couple of them too! The hair and make-up were done by Danielle Batey and Alexzandra Cleal. The photographs with the dark backgrounds were taken by photographer Joshua McMichael and the others by myself. The clothes were from a variety of sources, some being from ebay, others were ones the models brought with them and some were from Winchester based vintge clothes shop, Charming Magpies.
